September 2026 Coffee Morning

Lots of members and friends enjoyed a pleasant morning in St Wulfram's Church on the 22nd September.. Coffee, tea and biscuits flowed freely! I'm not entirely sure what our treasurer and group coordinator were up to; anyway they certainly enjoyed themselves! The next coffee morning will be held on the 27th October, why not come and join us?

Belton House Community weekend

Several of our members had a very busy weekend manning our stall at the Belton House Community Weekend. There was quite a lot of interest in our u3a and a few people from other branches stopped to have a word.

I may be biased but I did think that our guitar group were among the best entertainers on the big stage!

25th Anniversary Party

On the 18th of August some 230 of us celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Grantham u3a. Formed in 2001 with an initial membership of 15 we now have over 650 members and over 60 interest groups.

Many of these groups were involved with stands and presentations showing what they do. There was an excellent video of various groups in action, a link to which I hope to put on this web site shortly.

The afternoon celebrations culminated with two of the original, and still active members, Maureen Hill and Marilyn Edwards cutting the celebration cake and raising a toast to the future.

Fizz and cakes from our Cakes and Bakes group were much enjoyed by all.

A small selection from the day.

Thanks to Tony Hine for his help with photos.

A few more photos of the celebrations kindly donated by our visitors from the u3a council.

Awareness Raising

Those of us familiar with u3a know how valuable it can be to those no longer in full time employment.

Just count how many people you have met and now count as friends through belonging to Grantham u3a. Friends you may well have just not met but for Grantham u3a.
